Singapore Lottery

There are 3 main types of lottery games in Singapore: 4-D, Toto and Singapore Sweep. These are operated by Singapore Pools, the only legal lottery operator in Singapore.

4D (also known as 4D Lotto) is a fixed-odds game that originated in Germany and was first introduced in Singapore in 1968. Its results are announced every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 6.30 pm SG time.

The jackpot starts at S$ 1 MILLION, but it can rollover and increase in size each time it does not win a prize, so it is a very popular game. It also has a snowballing feature that means the jackpot can grow for up to four draws before it is finally won by a lucky winner.

Toto is the second most popular lottery in Singapore, and its draws are conducted twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 pm SST. If a jackpot does not roll over, it will “cascade” down to the next winning prize tiers and be shared out amongst the winners in each category.

Aside from this, Singapore Pools has also created a special jackpot called the “Cascading Draw”, which is held on the same day as the standard Toto draws. If the jackpot rolls over four times without a winner, it will automatically be redrawn at 9:30 pm SST.

While gambling is permitted in Singapore, it must be done legally and under the supervision of a person licensed by the Gambling Regulatory Authority. Those who engage in illegal gambling can face criminal charges and imprisonment. Individuals can seek assistance from the National Council on Problem Gambling’s helpline and Webchat. They should also avoid gambling beyond their means and limit their exposure to the gambling culture.
